ASHFSA 2008 ASHFSA ANNUAL CONFERENCE WOWS ATTENDEES!

A record 440 ASHFSA members joined in Las Vegas for the Opening of the 41st National Conference. The week started out with a Sustainability Pre-Conference Workshop with record attendance. In addition, 12 ASHFSA Chapter leaders came together for a special luncheon to share local successess. More than 75 first-time attendees met and discussed ASHFSA benefits and opportunities.

But the real treat came at the Flamingo Pool where more than 300 attendees enjoyed fabulous food, tropical drinks and stimulating conversation.

The rest of the week the attendees participated in Knowledge Networks; the Annual Culinary Demonstration Luncheon sponsored by Tyson, Inc. and Basic American Foods; the 25th Year Anniversary Business Partner Exhibits with an official ribbon cutting ceremony; the Annual President's Banquet where the ASHFSA Business Partner Hall of Fame was launched; and more.

Attendees also attended a wide range of educational topics, such as the business of clinical nutrition, enhancing revenue streams, technology and other current issues facing the health care foodservice administrator.

One other highlight of the week was Chef Jeff Henderson who awed ASHFSA attendees with his personal story of perseverance against overwhelming odds; encouraging everyone to maximize their potential.  Watch for his personal story to be played out in film starring actor Will Smith. Until then you can catch his reality series on the Food Network Channel.
